Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dear Students,
The 24th International Conference of Young Scientists (ICYS) will take place from April 16th to April 22nd, 2017.
We are delighted to welcome secondary students from over 30 countries to Stuttgart – for the second time since 2006.
At this conference, students present their individual research projects. They have explored seminal topics within the fields
of mathematics, physics, informatics, life science, and environmental science, and in doing so proved their great
determination to actively contribute to a more sustainable development in an engineered world. They showed extensive
commitment in addition to their regular course load and were expertly advised by teachers and scientists.
We want to express our sincere appreciation to all of you, both students and advisers, for your great work.
Research and development are of great importance to the Stuttgart region. Universities, Max-Planck institutes,
the German Society for Aeronautics and Astronautics, global players like Bosch, Daimler-Benz, Porsche, and many other
companies invest great efforts into “technology for life” - the core principle of Robert Bosch GmbH.
All of you, dear students, are strongly encouraged to not only present your projects and make friends across different
countries and continents, but to also experience the inspiring atmosphere of Stuttgart – the cosmopolitan city in Germany’s Southwest.
We are excited to meet all of you!
Dr. Zsuzsanna Rajkovits PhD - President of ICYS
Dr. Alexander Urban - Head of Local Organizing Committee
